From the dusty streets of Ngwelezane in Kwa-Zulu Natal, Mother Nature birthed musical talent in the form of the young and upcoming hip-hop artist Xola Msane, better known to his followers as Rayzer.
“Rayzer comes from razor because the end goal is to make music that cuts deep once I get on.”
A country-boy at heart but a melodial legend in person, Rayzer attributes his humble nature to the women in his life, more specifically his mom and his aunt Cebi, who helped build the man he is today and taught him to commit to what he wants and go get it.
Rayzer notes Zola as his biggest musical inspiration. “I can’t really express myself so when I heard Zola doing it in his songs, I was sold.”
As a hip-hop artist Rayzer gets his inspiration from “the energy” that surrounds him. “Every line is about something or someone around me.”
Rayzer is set to launch his first official project, The 1st Cut, on the 10th of November at the Bohemian’s pub in Johannesburg. Some of his favorite artists are: Zola, Montana of 300, Burna Boy and Lil Wayne.
“My dream collaboration has to be with Burna Boy and Zola”
